PRESENTATION
Toca el eco is a site-specific performance exploring the deep resonances between flamenco and Quebec traditional music, bringing together Sarah Bronsard (flamenco dance), Olivier Arseneault (step dancing), Alvaro Echanove or Alexandra Templier (flamenco vocals), Henry Garf (guitar), and Dâvi Simard (fiddle and traditional vocals).
Born of their collaboration on the large-scale production L’écho des racines, this site-specific project creates a festive gathering where traditions and heartfelt connections intertwine in close proximity to the audience. Toca el eco is a vibrant, deeply rooted celebration in which traditions become a shared playground for artists and audience alike.
This project reflects a grounding that complements La Sporée’s other initiatives: a return to a direct, accessible, and embodied connection. Drawing on traditional languages—carriers of memory, rhythm, and transmitted gestures—it becomes a vehicle for coming together, a space where the individual body connects with the collective.
